eNFL FAQ

What is the eNFL?

The eNFL is a multiplayer league using the Front Office Football 2007 pro football simulation by Solecismic Software.

When was it started?

The league was formed by members of Front Office Football Central (FOFC) in November 2003, shortly after FOF2004 was announced.  It is one of the oldest and longest running FOF multiplayer leagues.

Are the players and/or teams real or fictional?

The league uses NFL teams and was created with the official FOF 2003 Real Player File.  We are in our 23rd season so by now all players are fictional.  Players drafted after the league began are filling the Hall of Fame and real players have become coaches (Ray Lewis is head coach of the Baltimore Ravens; others include Steve Beuerlein, Justin Fargas, Bubba Franks, and Kwame Harris with more popping up every year.  Michael Vick is an offensive coordinator).

Who runs the league?

The Commissioner runs the league with the help and advice of four League Administrators.  Most questions of league rules/policies are voted on by league members.

How often are stages simmed?

During the season we sim three games per week, typically Monday/Wednesday/Saturday.   During the offseason, sometimes we sim daily to get through stages like free agency and exhibition games.  Stage files must be submitted by 9:00 pm Eastern to guarantee inclusion.  With rare exceptions, sim results are posted within an hour of the deadline.

What is the injury rate setting?

150

Is the personality/chemistry system turned on?

No.  The personality/chemistry system in FOF is based on horoscopes.  Referring to astrological lovecharts to determine which players you should acquire is unrealistic.

Are there any contract rules I should know about?

Yes.  You can only renegotiate contracts in their last year, all offers in early free agency must be for multiple years, and you cannot excessively backload free agent contracts.  Players may not be franchised more than twice.

How is the draft run?

The league uses the Front Office Football Conscriptor utility by J. David Baker.  The draft clock is on from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and teams have one hour to make their picks.  It takes four days to finish the draft.

Why doesn't the website have a bunch of stats like other mutliplayer leagues?

The amount of statistics in FOF is overwhelming and all can be viewed within the game.  Rather than extracting everything to post online, the website is used for original content.  Only the game-generated html is uploaded to the website.

How do I join?

Simply contact the commissioner and claim a team or ask to be put on the waiting list.  We take new GMs on a first come, first served basis.  Everyone is welcome to join regardless of their experience level.
