2034 Pre Season Wrap Up

by DavesGang

Coaches and GM's are agonizing over every roster choice. At least I know I am. Tring to cut down to 53 involves some of the most painful (and impactful) decisions that will shape a teams future. Do you cut that underpeforming WR thats been holding a roster spot for 3 years or give that raw rookie linebacker a chance just cause of his special teams gunner skills? When do you cut bait on that putz of a lineman that you drafted in the 5th that you were just certain was gonna be a huge creeper? Even worse... when some other team in your division snags him off the scrap heap, and you have to play against him. Now he goes on to have a successful 10 year career for some other team, and that UDFA RB that you kept instead is gonna wash out in half a season. You did remember to check his fumble proclivity in the preseason right? Wait, you trusted one games worth of stats! That's insane!

The Preseason is over and there were some injuries of note. Rams QB Trevor Montgomery will have to sit out the opener because of back spasms. Titans star QB to be L.Newton dinged up his knee, and may miss a handful of games. Indianapolis's 1.32 pick Louie Ah Yat  CB was expected to start subbing in as nickleback, but will be taking several weeks rehab a bum elbow. Maybe San Fransisco's ace returner WR Jim Tubbs will join him? Detroit's all world DE  Tim "tastefully named" Smith separated his shoulder and sadly will miss a number of games.  Green Bays pass rushing LB Tyrus Berkholtz claimed irreconcilable differences, and intent to separate from his shoulder for 4 weeks.

Carolina's 1.12 pick Hunter Hearron looks like he has all the physical tools to be a great O tackle, but boy is he raw. Not what we expect from a player coming from Iowa. His technique looks like he just played high school right now. Miami's 1.1 WR Coles is finally signed.

Big week one matchups? You betcha. Every game is a inter division clash that will help to determine who gets a early tie breaker. Game on!
