2033 Week Seventeen

This last week of the regular season held drama, triumphs, and tragedies.

Drama! St. Louis and Arizona both finished impressive 10-6 records, but the end results were very different for the two teams. The Rams lost the last two games while Zona won the last two. However the Rams had the head to head tie breaker and backpedal into the the playoffs while the suddenly hot Cardinals watch from home.

Over in the AFC Pittsburgh has been in the lead of the North for most of the season while Cincy, Baltimore, and Cleveland all beat each other up trying to keep pace. Well this last week uber QB Banks willed his Ravens to a huge victory over the Steelers. The game was so nice the league wanted to see it twice. So they both get to play each other again next week.

A lot of the wrap up games with teams off the playoff hunt were very good close games. Lets give a hand to the Jets and Miami for battling to the end. To Detroit and Minnesota for a entertaining game (May be Porters last?)

What happened to Dallas? At the mid point of the season this team was grinding opponents down with relentless defense and a ball control offense, but the mojo went away and they go from potentially best of the East to hardly 8-8 with 6 losses in a row.

WildCard weekend preview!

Kansas City @ Buffalo
These two teams are more similar than I realized... Look at the preview page to see what I mean. Two of the best players in the game in this contest. Watch for either NT Dwight "the Fright" Coliville or ILB Irv Bailey to have a big game and push their respective team deeper into the playoff hunt.

Ravens @ Steelers
Just keep doing what your doing says Baltimore. Watch for Banks to Hardaway. This connection can take over a game.
This ones for real says Pittsburgh. This strength of this team is in the O line and D line. If they can play it their way they'll grind out all opposition.

Philly @ Atlanta
Philly has really done a great job turning the franchise around. Watch for DJ Emmons to get lots of touches. He will have to have a big day to bring home a play off win. Atlanta is retooled and primed to win. A late season slump took them out of the 2 seed, but anything less than the Championship game will be a disappointment. Keep a eye on QB Carr who is becoming a elite talent QB. Also keep a eye on the Falcons pass coverage who will be expected to cover while also keeping a eye out for stopping Emmons big runs.

Rams @ Giants
Both these teams want to run it down each others throats. Getting on the scoreboard early will be key in this game.Keep a eye on the excellent line play form both these squads. Injuries may stall the Rams, but the game isn't in the books yet.
